Support our work in protecting the rich wildlife and heritage of this unique island.

Bardsey Island is a National Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Research. In order to protect and nurture the island and its small community the Bardsey Island Trust works to:

  • protect the wildlife and delicate ecosystem of the island

  • undertakes scientific study and educational programmes

  • protect and maintain the buildings and archaeological sites

  • promote the artistic and cultural life of the island

  • engage in farming to benefit the island's diverse habitats

  • and encourage people to visit the island as a place of natural beauty and pilgrimage

By working to protect the wildlife, the Grade II listed buildings, ancient monuments and all archaeological sites of the island we allow visitors a unique opportunity to visit and enjoy a working Welsh island that is also rich in heritage.

The Trust has only one full time member of staff resident on Bardsey, and one part time staff member based on the mainland. We therefore rely a community of volunteers whose commitment, both on and off the island make our work possible on the island.

Donate today to support the important work of the Bardsey Island Trust. We have teamed up with Local Giving to provide and easy and efficient way for our supporters to give online.

Thank you for your support of the Bardsey Island Trust.
